When we do landscaping jobs we find it is much more cost effective to dispose of light, bulky garden waste at a commercial recycling centre rather than using a skip.  Skips are great way to dispose of heavy materials such as soil, turf and rubble but fill up very quickly when bushes and branches are thrown in.  A shredder is useful to reduce the volume of lighter green waste but is time consuming and can be costly to hire.  We find that cutting bushes down with hedge cutters and removing the waste in bulk bags is the cheapest waste disposal method.

 

With councils reducing waste disposal services and skip prices rising steeply over the past decade we decided to launch a Green Waste collection service to cover parts of Edinburgh, Midlothian, The Borders and East Lothian.  The postcode areas that we cover can be found below.

 

The process is very simple. 

 

1. Click on the "Green Waste Bulk Bag" below and order the bags that you will need for your garden tidy up.  We will post them out and they can store them until you are ready to fill them.  If you have a large garden you can order bags for life which will be replaced by recycled bags each time a collection is made. 

 

2. Once they are filled simply click on "Waste Collection Booking + 1 bag collected" below to book a collection.  If there is more than one bag to be collected you can pay for additional bags by clicking on "Additional bags to be collected." 

 

3. Leave the ton bags out on the pavement or the front of your driveway on the day we are scheduled to come round.  We will send you a confirmation email to let you know the date and time window of the pick up.

 

4. We will pick up your bags of garden waste and take the waste to be recycled.  We will also drop off bags for life if required.
